2003 SNOWY WINTER:
MON. JAN 27 2003

It snowed AGAIN tonight! Took more pictures from my window. with my small binocular camera of all the snow, deer and the ponies. Even saw a couple fox..We haven't had snow in years but now it seems to be snowing either every week or a couple times each week. Oh boy! do I love it!

Bundled up tonight to feed dinner and do my pasture walk. The air smells so good in the snow! Tonight was a real treat; all the horses thought I had peppermints so they literally took the entire walk with me around the pasture, up the steep hill [waiting patiently for me each time I stopped to catch my breath! he he] and then back up the other steep hill to the barn.

Rockin'Rita was side by side with me, like she was my bestest buddy the whole way. The guys trailed close behind, probably listening attentively for that little plastic sound of a peppermint wrapper! he he It was so magical. Felt like I was dreaming. Thank GOD for the 3 layers of silk long johns [they're so soft]. Provided much needed warmth for the 1st half of the walk. After a lapse of the pasture I built up my own body heat to keep me warm and I always arrive back at the barn sweating.

Sure is nice to have things go well for a change; even if its for a couple days or couple of hours.

My poor hands weren't made for all this heavy work! :( maybe once I figure out how to reduce the swelling, it'll be better, but I wouldn't give this up for a moment! Don't know if i'll ever have this opportunity again to live on an estate with my critters.

Mom was taken by ambulance last night. Apparently she has a leaky value. At least she sounded good this morning, so i'm grateful for that. Gotta get to bed early so I can rest & recharge to do my barn chores tomorrow morning before going to the hospital to visit Mom.

They're calling for a chilly morning, if lucky maybe 10 degrees., so I'll be putting my Bogner ski jumpsuit on top of the silk layers for extra warmth and cuteability. Who said Ski Jumpsuits are only for looking good in Aspen or Austria skiing. They're made for warmth and flattering a girl's figure. Feeling cute puts a wiggle in my walk and makes the work a little easier & more fun! Like the barn sign I had carved says: "Perception is Reality" & that's the way I choose to see it.

I might get filthy at the barn but there's no reason I can't do it in style, right? :)
